I booked this place a month before my trip , and then closer to the date I read the reviews. I hesitated to cancel because I saw quite a few negative reviews (about the smell, comfort ,…). I am very glad I did not cancel as my stay was a very pleasant experience. The staff was very kind and courteous . They let me check in one hour before the check-in time. When I found out that the clothes drying rack was broken , I mentioned it to reception, and they brought a new one to my room within 10 minutes. The bed was very comfy and once the door of the bedroom is shut, it was very well isolated from the noise from the street and super dark (which for me is an important criteria to sleep well, and I slept like a baby ). So it might not be a five star hotel and you don’t have fancy kitchenware to cook elaborate dishes, but it’s got the basics to make a simple meal . Honestly I can’t fault the place , considering the price and central location- in the heart of Melbourne .

Unit was a little small but for one person it was fine, room had a balcony- small but was great to open to the air and watch the street scene. Very handy to shops, restaurants, sights, and trams just a short stroll away, as too train station. Very close to Vic markets to get morning coffee. Felt secure and safe easy access. Shower was a rain head -lovely!! Good size bar fridge to keep things cold with room to fill. Room was warm/ cool without needing to use air con

City's best hotel for price by a mile. Excellent location! Own apartment with facilities to cook,do your own laundry, reliable wifi . Staff are excellent to deal with and assist with any additionals to make your stay more comfortable. When you add up the savings from being able to cook for you and the family and with supermarket 5 minutes walk away , do your washing in your apartment and sleep the whole family . Whether it's short stay for business or a family holiday you can't go past .the City edge on Elizabeth.
